EMBARRASSMENT: Tshisekedi Asked Return Stolen Tax Money In Moanda

Incumbent President Fèlix Tshisekedi has been subjected to an embarrassing reception early into his campaign to seek re-election after he was asked by the electorate to return money that had been embezzled under his regime.

On Monday, Tshisekedi took his campaign to the coastal town of Moanda, Kongo-Central Province where he was met by residents who demanded that he returns the money looted by his government’s officials in the Registre des Appareils Mobiles (RAM) or as the Registry of Mobile Devices in the DR Congo.

RAM is a state scam formed by Tshisekedi’s government which imposed on the end user to pay a taxes worth US$7 per year, money which has not been accounted for since 2020.

Residents of Moanda reminded Tshisekedi of the money thieving scam he had imposed on the people just as he was addressing the underwhelming crowd that turned up.

It is the second time Tshisekedi’s campaign rally has been characterized by a shameful incident after his party agents were spotted giving residents money to attend the official launch of his campaign last Sunday in Kinshasa.
