DISCIPLINARY ACTION: Leopards Captain Chancel Mbemba Listed For Transfer by Marseille After Training Incident

Democratic Republic of Congo national team captain Chancel Mbemba is set to leave French Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille following a bust up in training.

Mbemba is said to have been asked to leave the club as he is not in new coach Roberto De Zerbi’s plans and was asked to train with the reserves.

The decision is said to have sat wrongly with Mbemba who had a serious confrontation with the club leadership who have since sanctioned him.

The Congolese international had been a key part of the squad since he arrived south France from FC Porto in 2022, helping the team last year to reach the semi-final of the Europa League.
