Democratic Republic of Congo President Félix Tshisekedi has once again sneaked out of the country discreetly to Belgium where he is receiving medical attention since Saturday.
Tshisekedi’s health is said to have deteriorated over the past few weeks prompting need for an emergency heart surgery.
The DR Congo ruler has Sunday, 28th July 2024 been admitted at the Saint Elisabeth Hospital in Uccle municipality of Brussels.
He had initially scheduled to be admitted at the popular Saint Luc Hospital but decided against the move so as not to attract the public’s attention.
Tshisekedi has delayed his trip to get medical treatment out fear of another coup d’etat attempt as that of 19 May which was narrowly foiled by the army.
