CONDEMNED TO DEATH: Police Officer Sentenced to Death For Murdering Two Chinese Nationals

Dominique Mutombo Kanyemesha, an officer in the Congo National Police (PNC), has been sentenced to death for the murder of two Chinese nationals in Mwene-Ditu of Lomami Province.

Kanyemesha had gone at large on 2nd January, 2025 after killing two Chinese engineers working on a road project in Mwene-Ditu with Crec-6 Engineering Company.

He was captured by army forces on Thursday before being brought to appear the military court where he was sentenced to death yesterday.

However, Kanyemesha’s lawyer Augustin Mbuyamba Mukendi says his client will appeal the verdict and plead for mercy stating that the defendant had acted out of anger after an argument with the two Chinese nationals.
