CAF AWARDS: Mazembe, Desabre Make Final Shortlists

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have released their final shortlists for the upcoming CAF Awards with the DR Congo getting two nominations.

TP Mazembe’s women’s team have been nominated for the Club of the Year Award in the women’s category while men’s national team coach Sebastien Desabre is up for the Coach of the Year Award.

Mazembe have been nominated after emerging as champions of Africa in the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League tournament held in Morocco.

The Lubumbashi giants are up against AS FAR Rabat of Morocco and Nigeria’s Edo Queens in the running for the award.

Mazembe’s Moroccan coach Lamia Boumehdi and Angolan attacker Lacho Flora Marta have also received nominations in the Women’s Coach and Player of the Year category respectively.

Leopards gaffer Sebastien Desabre has also nominated for the Coach of the Year accolade alongside African champions Ivory Coast’s Emerse Faé and Hugo Broos of South Africa.

The 2024 CAF Award are set to be held on Monday in Marrakech, Morocco.
