BILL GATES BACKED INVESTMENT: American Giant Mineral Firm Set To Invest In Congolese Mining Sector

KoBold Metals, an American multi-national mineral exploration company, has expressed its intentions to set up an investment in the Congolese mining sector in the near future.

The company backed the American billionaire, Bill Gates, is currently developing a copper project in neighbouring Zambia and will now seek to extend its investments into the DR Congo.

KoBold Metals Director Kurt House revealed that the company had already previously launched an offer for an asset in the DR Congo, which he opted not to reveal, but the transaction could not be completed.

House added that KoBold has taken interest in investing in the DR Congo as it is one of the most suitable places in the world as well as in line with the priorities of US President Joe Biden’s administration, which aims to increase American investment throughout the electric vehicle supply chain.

In their mining investments on the African continents, KoBold have been backed by Breakthrough Energy Ventures, the company owned by Bill Gates, BHP Ltd, the world’s largest mining company by market value, as well as prominent American billionaire businessman Michael Bloomberg.

KoBold Metals specializes in exploring new deposits of metals essential to the global transition to green energy while Kinshasa currently holds the title of the largest producer of cobalt and one of the largest sources of global copper.
