Byamungo Kazimiri, a civil leader in Bukavu, South Kivu Province of eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), narrowly escaped an attempt on his life on Tuesday following an assasination attempt by imposter president Félix Tshisekedi’s Wazalendo militia group.
Kazimiri who serves as mayor of Kadutu commune and famous for having exposed several evils and injustices of the Tshisekedi regime, was also killed after a grenade attack aimed at him.
The incident happened just before the end of a public sensitization meeting held at the Funu stadium in Kadutu commune.
Kazimiri and his delegation luckily left safe and unhurt as the security present at the meeting managed to foil the attack.
Provincial authorities attribute this missed attack to Tshisekedi’s criminal networks through the local Wazalendo militia which is sponsored by the presidency.
