The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have confirmed the schedule as well as match officials to oversee next month’s final round of matches in the Ivory Coast 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Moroccan referee Mostafa Akarkad will handle the crucial Group I encounter between the Leopards of the DR Congo and Sudan set to be played on September 9 with the venue still to be confirmed.
Akarkad, 34, will be assisted by compatriots Zakaria Brinsi and Karim Sabri as first and second assistant match officials respectively.
Jean-Médard Kossa from Congo Brazzaville will be the match commissioner at the crucial encounter.
The venue for the match is still yet to be confirmed with CAF having not granted Kinshasa’s Pentecost Martyrs Stadium approval to host international matches.
Sebastien Desabre’s side are on course for qualification to the AFCON next year as they lead Group I with 9 points thanks to CAF’s ruling in a case where the Leopards were awarded three points after Mauritania were found guilty of using an eligible player in the 1-1 draw between the two side earlier this year.
Gabon are second in Group I with 7 points while Sudan and Mauritania are on 6 points each respectively.
