A 60 year old woman in the city of Beni, North Kivu Province has been murdered by unknown people on accusations that she had been practicing witchcraft.
According to witnesses, the woman was abducted from her home in the neighbouring district of Butsili before being taken to Ngongolio area, in the commune of Mulekera where her lifeless body was found on the streets.
Police in Beni have since instituted investigations into the incident with perpetrators of the act still unknown although some suspects have been identified.
Meanwhile still in the city of Beni in the Kamaibo commune, another lifeless body of a two year old child was picked up on Wednesday.
The child who had been missing since Sunday was found dead in a stream just about 100 meters away from his home.
