RESULTS OF TSHISEKEDI’S ILL-GOVERNANCE: Organization For French-speaking Nations Rejects DR Congo’s Application

Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), the international body of French-speaking nations and regions around the world, have rejected the Democratic Republic of Congo’s application to renew their member in the organization after the country fail short of the set criteria and standards.

The DR Congo, a key player in the Francophonie community given its size and demographic potential, has failed to meet the OIF’s criteria due to poor governance, violation of human rights and a respect for the fundamental values by the Félix Tshisekedi regime.

In its response to the DR Congo’s application, the OIF stressed that the Tshisekedi government must wake-up call to review their priorities and adopt a clear strategy to strengthen their position within the organization.

For the first time 1977, the DR Congo’s OIF membership has come under scrutiny owing to poor governance by the Tshisekedi regime which has been characterized by violation of human rights, corruption, incompetence and electoral fraud.
